Associate Director of Web and Digital Communications The Associate Director of Web & Digital Communications oversees the Division of Communications' Web and Digital Communications team and is responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing Bucknell's digital presence, primarily through the bucknell.edu website, mass email deployment and on-campus digitalexperiences. Reporting to the Senior Director of Creative Services, the Associate Director is a highly collaborative and hands-on leader who fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, timely and friendly client service, and accountability. This individual will also possess a passion for staying abreast of best practices and emerging technologies related to the web, email deployment and other digital communications channels. This role requires a doer and a team player. The ideal candidate will make innovative and strategic use of the University's content management systems (CMS) and embrace data-informed practices and decision-making. In close collaboration with colleagues across communications and the University more broadly, the Associate Director will develop and implement a plan to ensure that content across the bucknell.edu website is dynamic, engaging, accurate and regularly updated as appropriate. Job Duties: ? Ensure that the bucknell.edu website, mass emails and other digital channels contain accurate and updated information, and align with the University's branding, goals and institutional priorities. ? Supervise, support and guide a team of three creative professionals in fulfilling the responsibilities associated with web development and digital communications, including by clearly defining performance expectations; ensuring accountability; and providing ongoing formal and informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. ? Serve as a liaison and key point of contact for the campus on issues related to the web, digital signage and email-related projects ? Develop and/or review policies and practices that help guide effective, efficient and consistent approaches to the University's web and digital communications channels, including designing and implementing digital governance practices and policies. ? Design and implement strategies and processes that optimize success with diverse digital technologies and employ methods for tracking the results of all digital campaigns. ? Use analytics to make data-informed proposals to enhance Bucknell's website and participate in decisions about design, navigation and overall web architecture. Develop, maintain and enhance a process for ongoing collection, reporting and analysis of web statistics for team review and continual improvement. ? Serve as the Division's primary liaison with colleagues in Library & Information Technology, including on issues related to hosting solutions and the CMS. Ensure that technology is developed and used for best strategic and creative impact in internal and external communications ? Keep up-to-date, review, and make recommendations to the Senior Director of Creative Services for the purchase of new tools or services to support Bucknell's digital communications. ? Serve as the primary point of contact on issues related to the CMS, and continually seek ways to leverage Bucknell's CMS for maximum benefit to the University. ? Ensure proper training resources, including in-person training, are regularly available for a limited number of users who access the CMS. ? Use a project management tool to manage and monitor workload and make recommendations for improving web development workflow ? Ensure the bucknell.edu website meets appropriate web accessibility standards. ? Maintain a list of key clients, and meet with them regularly to establish website needs and expectations, including responsiveness to deadlines. ? Follow and contribute to web development style and documentation standards. Maintain, respect and protect the confidentiality of information held within, or transferred across, the University's computer and communication resources in any format. ? Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. ? Other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: ? A Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience to include at least 2 years of supervisory experience or, in lieu of education, 9 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience ? Extensive experience with Google Analytics (or equivalent platforms), A/B testing, and other digital measurement tools and techniques, and a mastery of best practices and implementation of SEO, keyword, UTM parameters and other digital performance enhancements and metrics ? Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated experience using HTML, Javascript, and CSS, and a clear sense of user experience-focused design ? Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously ? Experience with project management processes and a demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and carry out complex projects ? Experience working within a content management system, preferably Drupal ? Experience using Adobe Creative Suite ? Knowledge of web design, including responsive design and web accessibility ? Established record of collaboration and good interpersonal and communication skills with diverse administrative and academic departments, students, and programming staff. ? Sound skills in customer service, presentations, writing, management, problem-solving and analytical judgment. ? Knowledge of email marketing best practices, metrics, campaign tracking and list building. Preferred Qualifications: ? Experience working within higher education ? Demonstrated experience with back-end development and usability testing ? Demonstrated experience writing for the web, graphic design or illustration and streaming media ? Experience developing and maintaining Wordpress themes and plugins ? Experience creating and deploying effective data visualization ? Strong user-centered design skills for interactive, new media projects related to web, mobile and email, including mobile app designs. ?
